QuickTel's
goals are to protect network resources, preserve the privacy and
security of QuickTel and our customers' networks, and maximize the
convenience of QuickTel and the Internet.
explanation
The
provisions of these Policies are intended as guidelines and are
not meant to be exhaustive.
Generally, conduct
that violates law, regulation, or the accepted standards of the
Internet community, whether or not expressly mentioned in this
Policy, is prohibited. QuickTel reserves the right at all times to
prohibit activities that damage its commercial reputation and
goodwill. We dislike disclaimers as much as you do, but without
them this service would not be possible.
This information
applies to members and online visitors. Members who do not honor
this information may be terminated without notice. Cancellation
requests must be in writing (e-mail is acceptable, but only to info@quicktel.com
(we are not responsible for lost or misdirected e-mail
cancellation notices)). Please include your name, telephone
number, username and disconnection date (today, tomorrow, etc). If
you have a problem with anything listed on the site e-mail webmaster@quicktel.com
or refrain from using the site. These policies comply to all
Federal, State, Local and FCC laws for legal use of the
Internet.

Quick
Notes:
Service Termination - As per your "signed"
agreement or through continued use of the service you are in agreement to QuickTel's Terms of Service
(TOS) policy, which require "all" service cancellations
to be in written notice (e-mail is acceptable, but only to info@quicktel.com
(we are not responsible for lost or misdirected e-mail
cancellation notices)). If the service is no longer in use or if
you're moving you must provide written notice. Please understand
we don't know your daily activities or your life schedule and need
to be informed of any changes regarding your account. Generally, we will continue billing
you as would your telephone company, cable company or any other
company that provides you with a subscription service. You may
deliver a notice to us by mail, hand, or fax to 509-882-4101. Any
problems with you regarding our Terms of Service (TOS) policy may
result in refusal of service in the future. Policies are in place
to ensure quality and integrity of the network or are legal
specific laws that residents must obey when using the internet. This policy
is enforced because (1) It's proof that you did cancel your
service so that we don't continue to bill you. (2) It's
a policy that all members who use the service are bound by. (3)
These policies have been tried and tested in court and
have held up as drafted because of server log files, your
agreement to our terms of service, and service specific laws
governing internet usage . If you don't plan on paying for our
service don't
signup or cancel within the royalty free cancellation period. We
provide you a number of cancellation options and have been good about carrying
our customers who owe us money month after month but that's no
longer an option. Your account must be prepaid and remain in good standing or you risk being
suspended. If you fail to keep your account current the account
will be disconnected. If you decide to reinstate your account it
will charged a $10 reconnect fee plus any past due charges must be
paid in full. The reconnection fee of $10 is applied to all returning
accounts. All
cancellation notices must be received within five (5) days following
the actual due date. The sixth (6th) day will cost you another month. We
do not prorate Internet access it is provided to you in its
unmetered format. No exceptions.
Harassment - Threats - Obscenity - . Any form of abuse, harassment,
threats, or obscenity will not be tolerated. We reserve the right
to refuse service to anyone.
Computer
Problems
Most computer hardware or software problems are the responsibility of the end user.
QuickTel is in no way liable for any software on or any hardware
inside the machine or your operating problems. If your software is unaligned or your
hardware has conflicts this may result in serious internet
connection problems or even worst serious computer problems. We
have assisted in thousands of requests involving our connections, computer
systems and other various problems and we know what we
support and how far we will go in our free support. All other questions,
problems, or conflicts are fee based service requests and we will
not be dictated by our customers. For
example, your computer won't turn on, your mouse isn't responding,
your video is fuzzy, etc are indeed "fee" based service
requests for which QuickTel has no responsibility. Ask yourself
these questions before calling our support:
-
Did you
purchase your software or hardware from QuickTel? If not,
please contact your point of purchase, the manufacturer, or
search the many support sites available on the Internet. If
yes, you may be covered under our limited thirty-day technical
support offering or your one (1) year warranty. All claims
must be brought to our attention and require a receipt. No
exceptions.
-
Is your
Internet problem because of your modem? For example, if
your modem is not responding means your problem is clearly a
modem problem and not an internet problem and such a problem
is not serviced for free by QuickTel Technical Services. If
your problem has to do with any device on your computer it's
your responsibility and not the responsibility of QuickTel. We
maintain your dialup and e-mail connections and not the
equipment or software required to use such services.
Questions
that don't relate to offered free member support services will be
denied the support they require. You may schedule an appointment
to have the problem diagnosed and solved for you by our technical
service center for a fee. We would love to offer you totally
"free" unconditional technical support but this type of
support cannot be absorbed by any technology company. It's just
not possible to provide 1 on 1 support to every conflict, error,
or problem out there by offering free technicians. Such calls
require extensive time and experience from you. Free + Free = $0
income. Sorry no exceptions.
Connection
Problems
QuickTel Internet Service dial-up (PPP) connections are
provided "as-is" without warranty or refund of any kind.
Internet connections can become unstable because of many factors
including but not limited to telephone lines, the phone company,
internet traffic, intranet traffic, server delays, equipment
malfunctions, reboots, erroneous software and/or operator error
can combine with many other factors, which can greatly influence
your internet connection stability and transfer rates.
Only
You Know When You Have Problems
QuickTel doesn't know when you're experiencing connection
problems because 99.9% of time we are online. If your connection
and computer are setup as intended, you should be able to access
QuickTel 365 days a year. The only condition to this rule would
be if QuickTel happened to be offline because of some unforeseen
major network outage or equipment failure resulting in loss of
outside connectivity. However, this still does not limit your
access to QuickTel's homepage or any e-mail that resided on a
QuickTel server prior to the outage. Therefore, you can assume
if you're unable to connect and view QuickTel's homepage the
problem more than likely is with your software or computer
system itself and not with QuickTel's service.
The
only way we can help or provide direction to your particular
problem is to contact our technical support line. When calling,
please inform the receptionist of your member username,
telephone number, particular problem (dial-up problem, can't
stay connected, or e-mail problem) because anything outside of
basic internet setup support like any and all hardware and
software questions (fee based services) will be declined access
to a technical support agent. Non-members
must pay for all support.
